WWII German K98 Bayonet and Scabbard jwh 1944

Description:
This is a 1944 dated WWII German M1884/98 bayonet manufactured by Staatliche Waffenfabrik, Chatellerault, France and comes with a non matching numbered steel scabbard "259". In over all very good condition, the bayonet measures 14 7/8 inches overall with an unsharpened excellence condition, 9 11/16 inch blade. It is marked "6931" on the ricasso and "jwh" on the reverse with "44" date on the spine. The wooden grips are in very good condition with light marks and nice patina The flash guard and pommel are near excellence with two Waffenampts, "WaA251" on the pommel. The scabbard is not matching but is dated 1937 and maker marked "E.u F Horster" A nice example of a 98K bayonet from one of the late occupied makers. ;
