Description: Bill Bagwell extremely rare "Stygian Damascus" Combat Bowie with ripple pattern named after the Styx River, double brass guard, stag handle, wrist thong, scarce marking seen on the leather keeper strap of the original leather scabbard, the name BAGWELL at the top of the sheath is Bill's own hand writing as well, made in Vivian, LA. This particular knife is the very first one that was made in January 1974.(the very first Damascus-bladed knife Bill made was completed in December 1973-it was a large Bowie and "HIS" personal knife, as it is marked BILL BAGWELL in a signature lettering style- pictures of this extremely scarce model can be seen in the book about Bagwell which is now sold-out. Sold "AS IS." All sales are final. All the listed Bagwell's can be seen in the Special Limited Numbered Edition book of only 24 copies printed globally,(no longer available). Exceptional knife of historical significance. Free shipping USPS with tracking # and signature required. No trade, no exchange, no return. Incidentally this Bowie is a "real" Bagwell's Bowie as Bill used to make them in the early days of his knifemaking career, similar to the way the rare composite Damsascus model listed separately. Most of the stunning combat Bowies were made when Bill resided in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. He stopped making knives with such thick spine and sotck back in 1985 when he moved to Marietta, Texas.
