Description:
Extremely scarce, and one of the finest ever produced William P. Bagwell's comes in the form of this unique and historic original "Hell's Belle" Presentation Gentleman's Bowie Knife from 1972. Engraving by Master Engraver the late great E. C. Prudhomme,(1911-1990 ) mounts, guard, escutcheon, pommel. Blade marked on right side with the rare "B" initial at the ricasso. Ten-and-a quarter clipped point blade by 1-7/8-inch wide, from 1/4-inch 1040 steel stock, 14-7/8-inches overall length, denotes a brightly mirror polished finish, and a sharpened false edge, fancy "S" shaped brass crossguard, large oblong escutcheon embedded in the American walnut grip, brass butt cap. This is a high-grade exhibition Museum caliber item. Condition is mint. No sheath was ever made for this knife. The wooden presentation case is not the original, but I can thruthfully states that this particular case was made in May 1982; the knife fits perfectly inside it. I am enclosing such with the knife as I have no needs for it. A photocopy of catalog # 2 comes with the knife. Buyer pays shipping,(to be determinated) using UPS with tracking number, full declared value for insurance purposes, signature and delivery confirmation will be required. This is a FINAL sale. I do not accept return. Sold only to the Continental US, Hawaii and Alaska. No international shipping. Indicative of the scarcity is the astonishing engraving by E. C. Prudhomme.
