Description: The Alamo by Master Smith James L. Batson, Jr. is a classic Southwest Bowie type knife and it is the very first knife of a serie of 30 models - Iron guard was forged with a half penny finial and flat balls terminals, slight curve for finger cut-out at bottom. The guard is 4-inches in width, blade and guard are "Forge Fire Finish." as was the original in permanent view at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C . This knife can be sern in Madison Grant's THE KNIFE IN HOMESPUN AMERICA on page 49. Jim's did the beading on the sheath which is made from red cedar wood and covered with fine leather and leather fringe at the top which acts as a headdress for the top of such scabbard and the front is ornamented with red, white and turquoise beadwork.
