Original 1 of only 1000 ever made. Singer U.S. 1911 A1 Magazine EXTREMELY RARE
Description:
This magazine is one of only 1,000 produced by Singer during the experimental run of 500 pistols. It features the correct semi-circle crimps securing the floorplate, the distinctive rear seam where the two sides were joined, and the light machine marks on the back caused by the fastening device.
According to U.S. Pistols & Revolvers 1909–1945 by J. Harrison (see reference photo), this rear seam is unique to Singer magazines and does not appear on any other manufacturer’s production. The book also documents the characteristic machine scratch marks created during the seam-joining process.
The Singer magazine is the only one marked with the B and D stamps while also exhibiting these specific features.
Some longtime collectors may remember me as The Yankee Armorer. Over 30 years ago, I offered a Singer pistol for sale, and this magazine originally came with that gun when I acquired it.
This magazine is priced at less than half of the value increase it provides to a Singer owner who currently has an incorrect magazine in their pistol — a rare opportunity to complete a true Singer.
