Offered here for sale is a very fine original Colt factory FULL SIZED 1911 magazine with Matte Finish. The Colt 1911 .45 Auto magazine with a matte finish and marked:

• "COLT 45 AUTO" on one line
• ".45 AUTO." on another line with dots before and after

—is consistent with a commercial production magazine. The use of dot punctuation before and after ".45 AUTO." was a stylistic detail Colt used mostly from the 1950s through the 1970s, particularly on commercial magazines. Magazine likely dates from the 1950s to early 1980s, most probably in the 1960s–1970s range. Colt was producing a lot of commercial 1911 pistols during this period, and the magazines were branded more visibly for the civilian market.
