Antique Cane Sword – “INDIA” Marked Blade – Late 19th / Early 20th Century Walking Stick Sword
Description: Offered here is an authentic antique cane sword dating to the late 1800s to early 1900s, featuring a concealed straight steel blade housed within a carved wooden walking cane. Pieces like this were produced for the export and curio trade during the colonial era and remain highly collectible today for their craftsmanship and historical appeal. This item is a display/theatrical collectible — it is not intended for modern use. The blade is decorated with dotted floral motifs and clearly stamped “INDIA” near the base, indicating export manufacture. The pistol-grip handle appears to be dark horn or hardwood with lighter end cap, complemented by brass collars and decorative carved sections along the shaft. The cane separates cleanly to reveal the hidden blade, and the piece displays nicely both as a walking stick and as a conversation piece. This is a striking example of a classic antique cane sword — ideal for collectors of antique arms, Victorian curios, or unusual walking sticks. Condition: • Antique condition with honest age wear consistent with use and storage • Blade shows light spotting and patina but retains clear decoration • Cane shaft has carved detail and age-related finish wear • Scabbard tip appears to be a later protective replacement (common on antique cane swords) • Overall solid display piece with good eye appeal Approximate Era: circa 1890–1930 Origin: India (export market) Total length assembled: 35 inches Blade length: 23.5 inches Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description. This is an antique collectible sold for historical and display purposes. Shipping & Legal Notes: Buyer is responsible for knowing local laws regarding ownership of concealed or disguised blades. Item will be shipped securely and safely packaged. SOLD |
