Antique Dietz Lantern This dash lamp stands 15" in height. It has the original globe in perfect condition and a No. 2 steel burner which takes a 1" wick. The bulls eye reflector is about 4 in. and the convex lens is 2 3/4 in. diameter. It has an internal crack but is stable and would still focus a bean of light. Talk about "CHARACTER" in an old lantern! The lantern body appears to be in good condition with no dents in the canopy as most have. There is some surface rust, but would clean up better. The bottom has no dents or holes and the rear buggy clip is in perfect using condition. This lantern is in as found condition, but would clean better for you collection, if you like. It stands 15 in. tall and 6 1/2 in. in diameter at the base. Made by Dietz Co. New York in the late 1800s and marked "DIETZ" A very rare and hard to find LANTERN. I have found only one other for sale and the price is $510.00 and it is bad rusty. These were clipped on the dashboard of your buggy or wagon and also over the top board of stalls in the barn.
