An Early Civil War Ames Model 1860 Cavalry Sword Dated 1862

Description:
An Early Civil War Ames Model 1860 Cavalry Sword Dated 1862 In Very Good Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The sword has very good metal including the blade, and good markings. The blade is lightly marked on one side "AMES MFG. CO., CHICOPEE MASS". The other side is clearly marked "U.S./DR/1862". These marks are very clear. The metal on it has a nice untouched patina throughout it. The original brass guard, pommel, and grip with wire are fine throughout as shown. The top of the pommel is also marked "D.R." The scabbard is very good throughout with the usual dent made by soldiers toward the bottom to prevent any rattling. It has a very nice chocolate patina throughout it. This Is A Very Nice Looking Example Of An Early Civil War Ames Model 1860 Cavalry Sword Dated 1862!
