Fine Colt 1851 Navy .36 Cal Mold "WAT" Inspector Stamp
Description:
This is a straight leg, .36 caliber, two cavity bullet mold for the 1851 Colt Navy revolver. The round ball is nearest the hinge and the other is a heeled conical cavity. It is marked "COLT'S / PATENT" on the sprue-cutter and "WAT" inspector stamp for William Andrew Thornton, the Government Inspector at the New York Arsenal in script on the right leg. Also on the top of the right leg is an "S" stamp. The condition is very fine overall with much of the original blue finish having some scattered surface pitting. A great tool to pair with your Colt revolver. A very scarce mold especially in this condition.
