Both volumes illustrated throughout with black & white photos, and color frontispieces; volume one illustrated with seven color plates. Bound in black leather over boards, with gilt stamped titles and decorative device on spines and front boards. Marbled endpapers - All edges gilt.  A reprint of the 1939 edition.
