Jesse James Funeral tassel. This tassel was used on the hearse that carried Jesse James's body, The tassel is pictured in the Smithsonian book on page 11. Tassel is in great condition with some material noted to being loose. With this tassel comes an original affidavit from Julio Zamagni. Mr. Zamagni was the owner of the horse drawn hearse that was used to pull the body of Jesse James from the funeral home to the train depot. This is a must have for any Wild West or Jesse James collector! This item / These items came from John Flood who was Wyatt and Sadie Earp’s personal Secretary and closest confidant. Mr. Flood even wrote a biography on Wyatt Earp that was never published. He was given and inherited numerous items from the Earp’s. Mr. Flood in turn passed the Earp collection on to John Gilchriese. Mr. Gilchriese owned and operated The Wyatt Earp Museum in Tombstone, AZ, where all of these items were displayed. These items were sold directly by Mr. Gilchriese to David Roberts along with Mr. Gilchriese’s notes on each item. Each item comes with a certificate of authenticity from Collectors Firearms.
