Antique Gold Mounted Presentation Cane, I dated early 20th century. This presentation walking stick is inscribed "PRESENTED" "To Geo. A. Robbins Aug. 16 1913 by Rural Mail Carriers & Office Clerks Shee Falls P.O." Handle is bright Gold mounted on a black shaft. The stick is long with overall measurement of it being 36". The shaft is polished ebony hardwood. The ferrule is in very good shape with little wear on the tip. All parts are tight and secure, ready to swagger.
Over all, this stick has a wonderful patina and is in excellent original condition and would make a great addition to any collection or wardrobe. A real beauty.
Whereas a gentleman carries an umbrella or a walking stick he “wears” a cane. The umbrella and the walking stick are functional accoutrements; but a gentleman’s cane is a finishing touch to his wardrobe.
