KING RANCH, TEXAS - SADDLE SHOP - CUSTOM FLORAL CARVED GUN CASE WITH KING RANCH HISTORY i.e. BOB KLEBERG & LEROY G. DENMAN
Description: The item for sale is a King Ranch Floral Carved Gun Case made in the King Ranch Saddle Shop in Kingsville, Texas. This not only is a work of art but a piece of Texas history. "Several years ago after I first got this I took it to Roberto Salas the last saddlemaker of the King Ranch Saddle Shop. He looked at it and said that Robert "Bob" Kleberg had it made for a family member of Leroy G. Denman his friend and attorney for the King Ranch". Bob Kleberg was President and CEO of the King Ranch. As this was requested by the CEO of the King Ranch for his friend and attorney only the finest materials and workmanship.were provided. After his father's death Bob had been named President and CEO of the King Ranch a position he held over 50 years until his death in 1974. Photos of a King Ranch letter reflects the positions of Bob Kleberg and Leroy Denman. The case is in excellent condition with only minor scuffing as shown in the photos. The King Ranch hallmark is shown along with the date of 3-2-67. The initials for the future owner are also carved in the leather. The case is lined as shown in the photo. The leather work and carving are of the highest quality as you would expect from the King Ranch. The Saddle Shop still located in Kingsville no longer has any saddlemakers. Great leather work like this is now part of their history. Bob Kleberg would pass away in 1974, seven years after requesting the gun case. The overall case length is 48". SOLD |
