Description: Possible bag with powder horn and knife. 19th Century frontiersman kit including a leather satchel of powder horn with a wooden plug, and a wood and steel knife. The bag for holding ever "possible" thing the rugged mountain man would need and has a minimalistic construction. Deer hide panels sewn together to create the pouch and thick leather straps. Knife and powder horn are tied by leather cords and a deer or bovine toggle to the bag's strap. The knife has a wooden handle with old brass wire wrapped around the top. The blade is curved with a rounded tip for skinning and is stamped "National Selling Co. Allentown, PA." The powder horn is made from a steer horn with a wooden cap at the end and a brass loop for suspension. SOLD |
