Description:
German Lion's Head Officer's Sword. Mfg. by Eickhorn with name and squirrel logo, Solingen, Germany during WWII. Good condition. 32 1/2" blade is good with some peppering. Because the blade is bright & shiny I could not get a good picture of the peppering National emblem(SWASTIKA) with eagle on the langet. oval on the reverse side, nicely done raised oakleaf pattern on the guard and back strap. Lion's head top with red glass eyes. Heavy age and wear to the brass. Black bakelite handle with twisted silver wire wrapping is very good. 37 3/4" overall length. Black painted scabbard with single suspension ring has no dents but shows drag marks & some finish loss.
