This is an authentic German K.W. 27 map accessory pouch (Karten Beiwerk Tasche) used during the Reichswehr and Wehrmacht eras. It was designed to hold various map reading and calculating accessories for artillery plotting tools. It have contained three clear plastic protractors, devices to assistthe crew in laying fields of the fire using map. This is a very nice example of the pouch in very good original condition.
The snaps are very clean and function smoothly (the snaps are very often rustwd or torn out).

The initials "K.W. 27" on the flap stand for Karten Winkelmesserel model 27.
The pouch is made of a black ersatz material, indicating it is likely a late-war example.
The three-letter code "gwr" identifies the manufacturer.
It features a fold-over top flap with two working snap closures.
