WW2 British PIAT Round - June 1944 - Deact. - Lake Bed Recovery
Description:
The Projector Infantry Anti-Tank (PIAT) was the British Commonwealth solution to increasing enemy armour and a solution for all ground troops in all theatres - replacing the Boys anti-tank rifle - made famous by the Paratroops of Operation Market Garden.
Here we have a mk3 round that was fabricated and painted in June of 1944 in a theatre brown shade with black markings and stamps - with 85% or better still remaining. Deactivated - no fuse, motor or other chemical remain. It has been preserved with a coat of museum wax. It is a great study for the fabrication techniques and markings used and will look great in your display / collection - especially if you have a "projector!"
