WWII WW2 German 1942-dated
P.08 Luger Holster-"gxy 42" - Excellent Condition
Description: For your consideration is a superb WWII German 1942-dated P.08 Luger holster. That year was the final production year for the P.08. Mauser switched to P.38 production in late 1942; sources vary on when. Very few Luger holsters were produced after 1942 & are thus exceedingly rare. This holster is marked with ordnance code “gxy 42” indicating production by Gebr. Klinge, Lederwarenfabrik, Dresden-Loebtau, Germany. Below the ordnance code is Waffenamt that is only partially legible from rub wear. Overall, the exterior holster is in exceptional condition showing minor surface scuffs & rub wear. No deep gouges or holes. The holster body is nice & firm but the leather is supple. Belt loops are still nice & firm as well. The black color remains strong except for areas of rub wear. All stitching is intact & the linen thread is white throughout. Buckle has some brown patina but no rust. The interior of the holster is in like condition; the lift strap is completely intact as is the tool pouch. There is a faint name inked on the top flap but is illegible from age & wear. This is an exceptionally nice Luger holster from the final year of Luger production. Moderately priced as German holsters in general have gotten a bit crazy…one of the “big” sites would probably have this listed in the $500+ price range. This will ship in a USPS medium flat rate box & I recommend insuring for the full value. Acceptable forms of payment are: PayPal gift, USPS money order, or a certified check. If none of these work for you please contact me & we can work something out. I am open to a reasonable offer. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking. SOLD |
