Leather is soft & supple & there is no rust or oxidation on the metal parts.
Full wartime economy measures in place with 2 leather parts showing a black finished side while others are the natural rough side. At this point the Germans were recycling leather scrap. It adds to the uniqueness of the pouch & would make a very fine addition to a G43 or K43 rifle.
