Description: WW1 HENRY WILKINSON BRITISH PATTERN 1897 INFANTRY OFFICER’S SWORD AND SCABBARD CIRCA 1914. 39” o/a with 32” blade etched and engraved with martial motifs and the George V cypher. Ricasso beautifully etched and engraved with the maker’s Warrant and addressed “HENRY/WILKINSON/PALL MALL/LONDON” within an etched cartouche. Back of blade serial number stamped forward of the guard “48264”. Nickel plated steel “Honey Suckle” basket guard and shark skin wrapped and triple wired grip. Original leather covered field scabbard. Sword in superb condition with all the original blade polish and grip wrap showing only slight use.
