"U.S. Model 1840 ""Wristbreaker"" by Ames (SW1852)

"

Made in 1851 by the Ames MFg. Co. Curved blade is 36"" in length with a thin 18"" fuller. Blade is mostly a smooth dark grey patina with light pin-prick surface oxidation visible. Ricasso is marked ""US/A.D.K"", opposite side ""Ames MFG. Co./Cabotville/1851"". Leather wrap around wooden grip is cracked and wire is missing.
