A PAIR OF ONE PIECE COLT SAA WALNUT GRIPS. DAVID F. CLARK SUB-INSPECTED. JOHN G. BUTLER ORDNANCE INSPECTOR 1885. PENCIL MARKED IN REAR CHANNEL 5445. D.F.C. IN SMALL LETTERS ON BOTTOM LEFT PANEL. I BELIEVE ORIGINAL FINISH THAT HAS ACQUIRED WHAT I CALL A SKIN. HAVE SEEN THIS ON MANY OIL FINISHED MILITARY WALNUT STOCKS OF THE ERA.
