Description:
These original Colt factory red-brown mottled Coltwood service grips are correct for Official Police Model from c. 1946 -1951, the Officers Model Target from c. 1948 into 1949, and the Officers Model Special from 1949 into 1952. They will also fit all E/I-frame Colt revolvers: the New Army and New Navy, all Army Specials, all Officers Models through 1970, all original Official Police, the Commando, all original Troopers, the 3-5-7 Model, and the Python. After c. 1951 Colt transitioned from the early red-brown mottled Coltwood compound to a duller brown compound. While the early red swirled compound grips do not shrink, the later brown compound grips did. In excellent condition, this pair comes with their correct original grip screw and blind threaded, slotted escutcheon nut. The butts of both panels (3rd photo) have a few light scratches, and very tiny chips at the heel. The pair is priced accordingly.
