Scarce Boxed Post War Colt .22-.45 Conversion Unit Circa 1946-47

This is a complete boxed Colt .22 LR conversion unit for 1911 pistols marked on the box ".22-.45 / Service Model / CONVERSION UNIT". Part of the immediate post war builds with only some 300 to 500 made without serial numbers and is identified by the address marking on the left side of the barrel "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO.HARTFORD.CT.U.S.A." which was unique to the 1946 to mid 1947 slides. In excellent plus condition the slide shows virtually all, 99% plus original Black Magic bright bluing on the sides and matte finished top with crisp markings and only minor handling blemishes. It comes in the original Colt box that shows an old tape repair to the top side and contains the original manual, complete slide and barrel assembly, spring and Colt factory .22 magazine. A rare original Colt 22 conversion kit in excellent condition.
