Description:
Complete Lock Assembly for English made East India Company Military Flintlock Musket, dated 1812, original antique lock in very good working condition. Lockplate marked with Standing Lion crest of East India Company, crowned inspection mark amd dated 1812 on lock plate tail as shown in photos. Marked with HA inspection mark on reverse side of lockplate. This flintlock has a nice grey patina with all parts functioning. As shown in the photos, the interior of the flashpan has some medium pitting but is not burned through. The main spring is strong with light pitting where it touched the old wooden stock. The lockplate mounting screw holes are not stripped out. Many of these East India Company muskets were used by the English Military during the Napoleonic Wars and if you are building or restoring a musket from parts, this would be an excellent lock to use.
