Redfield Mauser 80 Series Micrometer Receiver Sight
Description: In 1963 this Redfield receiver sight was removed from a FN made Mauser rifle when the rifle was upgraded with the installation of a rifle scope. The sight has been in storage ever since. It is a Redfield 80 series receiver sight. It features hunter style coin slotted adjustment knobs, ¼ minute click windage and elevation adjustments. In addition, 80 series receiver sights were equipped with a quick removable windage staff (also called a slide). The slide is released with a small push button located on the sight’s mounting block. See photo #10. This button is frozen (seized) in place. It does not engage nor retract from its current position. Both the elevation and the windage adjustment knobs freely turn in both directions as they should. The sight is fully functional with the button in the stuck position. My guess is this stuck quick removable windage feature after sitting for many years may need a thorough cleaning and oiling to put it back in service. Perhaps just sitting a few days in a grease cutting safe solvent would free things up. I believe most shooters when their rifle is sighted in do not wish to do much “off and on again” of the sight’s slide. In all other aspects the sight is in good workable condition. There are a few shiny spots which can be seen in the photos. The two original mounting screws are included. The sight was designed to fit 93, 94, 95, 96 and 98 Mauser receivers. The price is $100.00 and includes delivery. SOLD |
