Gun Barrel Reboring Machine (hydraulically operated), Tooling and Training

My name is Randall Redman and I own Redmans’ Rifling & Reboring.  Up for sale is my gun barrel reaming and rifling machine and  tooling which includes rifling heads from 22 caliber up to 50 caliber and bore reamers for the same.  To describe the machine, it is hydraulically operated and the hydraulics reciprocate the carriage back and forth. The reaming tubes and rifling head rods are attached to the carriage. The design of this machine is very unique in that it serves as a reaming machine and then a rifling machine with the barrel being chucked up in the headstock for both operations. For the reaming of the barrel, the barrel spins while the reamer is slowly pulled through the barrel. The bore reamer is attached to a hollow tube that allows oil to flow through the tube to flush the reaming  chips and lubricate the reamer. For the rifling process the headstock has 6 index holes (for cutting a 6 groove rifling)  and locks the barrel in place as the rifling head is pulled back and forth by the carriage. Cutting the groove in the barrel is progressive so the rifling head passes back and forth as the barrel is locked in place by the index hole and when the rifling head comes out of the barrel, the headstock is rotated to the next index hole and the rifling head again passes back and forth through the bore.  This process continues until the proper groove depth is obtained.   The pictures are of an octagon gun barrel that is chucked up in the headstock.

 I was trained in the art of gun barrel reboring by the renown Ward Koozer from Leaburg Oregon who was the BEST in the trade. He took me under his wing as a young man and taught me everything he knew about gun barrel reboring.   With this purchase you will receive hands on training on how I rebore and rifle a gun barrel.  It will be explained how to sharpen the rifling cutter and how to make the rifling heads.   Also how to make the bore reamers which is a very unique method.  I will be passing on  40 years of reboring experience and the special techniques I learned from the Master, Ward Koozer.
