F. A. MEANEA "MEXICAN LOOP" HOLSTER WITH CARTRIDGE MONEY BELT

Description:
The item for sale is a F.A. Meanea "Mexlcan  Loop" holster with a cartridge money belt. F.A. Meanea Saddlery of Cheyenne, Wyoming was one of the West's master saddlers. This holster features a slight swelling of the body profile between the integral skirt loops (designed to keep the pouch from riding up when the revolver is drawn). The "tear drop" sewn-in toe  plug a trait typical of Wyoming and Montana made holsters is not featured on this holster. Nor does it appear to have ever had one. This handsome rig exhibits the attributes of the "Cheyenne" variant. The cartridge money belt matches the holster nicely, however it is not hallmarked by F.A. Meanea. The belt features a buckle with clipped corners referred to as a California buckle. There are 41 sewn cartridge loops on the belt. One loop on the end had the stitching come loose. With that exception all stitching on the holster and belt are excellent. The overall length is 46". The leather on this rig is excellent. We have not treated or soaped the leather. We believe the buyer should have the choice. However, we recommend Black Rock leather treatment.
