Description: Handcrafted in 1966 by Stephen Mackrill, one of South Africa's prestigious knife makers, this knife measures 9 1/2" overall with a 4 3/4" full tang stainless steel drop point blade with attractive filework thumb rest and edges of the upper tang. The hollow ground blade remains unsharpened, retains all of its polished mirror finish and is marked with oval "S. MACKRILL" maker marks on the obverse side and "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" on the reverse side. The brass guard has an attractive filework faceted front and the scales are lovely, polished warthog tusk and green malachite with red liners each fastened small bright pins and are separated from the guard by thin brass and red spacers. The warthog scales show thin drying checks and there is a thin vertical crack across the obverse malachite scale. Included is a hinged imbuia presentation case, open throat buffalo hide sheath and certificate of authenticity. The interior lining of the case show light staining and a large spost of wear in the lower right corner.(This one normally sells for $800.00) Price: $550.00 Contact Seller |
