World War I-production German ""nahkampfmesser"" Close Combat Boot Knife made by Gottlieb Hammesfahr. The blade & the ricasso are marked with the Imperial crown inspection mark on one side, & the other side is marked Gottlieb Hammesfahr, Solingen-Foche. Overall length is 11.75-inches & the blade is 6-inches. The wooden handle grips have nine diagonal carved grooves, complete with two brass rivets. The fighting knife is complete with the original steel scabbard but the leather belt loop is missing. The blade & scabbard are in very good condition,
