US Model 1904 Bolo / Hospital Corps Knife
Description: This is a handsome knife that measures 17 1/4" overall with an 11 7/8" curved, single-edged blade with rounded tip. The blade has been lightly cleaned to an armory bright polish with scattered specks of dark plum-brown freckling along either side. The ricasso is marked “US / 38779" on the obverse, “SA / (flaming bomb) / 1914" on the reverse. The S-curved crossguard a mild ochre-colored patina, and the walnut grips are in fine shape with light handling marks and minor blemishes. The RIA-made, 1912 dated leather scabbard is in fine shape with 97-98% of the original blue remaining on the belt swivel and a lightly crazed and flaked brown leather body. This is a splendid example of a great pre-WW1 US military knife, and would make a great addition to any collection. SOLD Manufacturer: US Military Model: Bolo |
