This is a Montreal-made, private purchase cap (size 6 7/8) by William Scully Ltd. that has a navy blue felt crown with matching piping and scarlet band along with a tarnished “(lion, passant guardant)/THE KING'S OWN” badge at the front (The King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment). The thin black chinstrap is affixed with brass general service Canadian army buttons and the black patent leather peak has a wide embroidered bullion officer's band running along the edge. The peak has retained its shape with almost no damage along the top surface. The interior has a pale green satin lining with full surface sweat shield, and a wide leather comfort band. The cloth has some minor staining from long storage, but the crown stiffeners are still in place and the cap rates very good plus overall. This is a handsome Canadian cap with an out of place regimental badge, and would make a nice display piece.
