PLEASE READ FOR YOUR INFORMATION.
Description: In Militaria, I encounter several type of items that can be listed in about four categories in a general sense regardless what it is or period of that item. 1. Items I am completely confident are original from that particular time, there are multiple reference available. Looking at the item, one can hear the marching bands or Civil War songs being sung. I recently sold a CSA rectangle with pigskin belt that experts said was both real and incporrect depending who was asked. It sold for big money and I am told will be referenced in a new book being published by a Known authority on the subject 2. Items I think have a strong possibility of being original to that particular time, but not a lot of direct reference or information. 3. Items that look good but raise questions that cannot be answered. All items that immediately cause any doubt from appearence need to be put into the questionable catagory and viewed with suspicion. 4. Items that are clearly reproduction or have been altered to look original but are reproductions. Clearly evident conditions that are easily referrenced on multiple of platforms. There are a lot of pretty good reproductions out there and controversy by so called 'Experts' about what is in fact Real with some saying the reference show reproduction items mixed with original. I now go to sites like Emedals which seems to know what they have, and there are others as well that have original items that are consistant in detail and appearence with respect to construction. I frequently buy from s and so have to sometimes rely on pictures until an item is in hand. Have seen some great stiff and not so great stuff come through. Sometimes I will buy a repro cheaply to better understnd current manufacturing. I recently posted pictures of what I thought was an original SS Totenkopf vehicle pennant. Doing research on another item, I determined it is a reproduction, a very well made repro but never the less... This was my mistake, but I can be and stand corrected if peovided with documentation to whatever condition exists. I have never sold a repro as an original item so far and have corrected mistakes before that has occurred and there have been few of those, and mostly with items that could be... I will describe all listings in a best effort to not misrepresent anything I offer.. I have seen a lot of oddball stuff over the years that was original to whatever period but mostly Third Reich and their Allied countries, although the Civil War period presents some interesting challenges as well.. To state my policy in all future dealings with anyone, if you buy something from me, receive it and do not like it, return it within ten days for a full refund minus SH&I unless otherwise stated in the listing. If I list anything as original and am incorrect and you provide documentation to that effect, I will refund all payment including shipping. It is my intestion to sell anything I have as exactly whatever it may be, either original, maybe original but, or reproduction, and I will do the best I can to make correct determinations before I list...
