Excellent New York Marked Krag Bayonet 1899 Correct M1899 Steel Scabbard

Description:
This is a Krag bayonet stamped US on the obverse of the ricasso and dated 1899 on the reverse. The wood grips are NY marked with "1NYG / 58" on the left pane. It measures 16 1/4 inches overall with an 11 11/16 inch fullered blade unsharpened with an armory bright finish with mild scabbard wear. The crossguard and pommel show some dried oil and have a somewhat dull pewter brown appearance with excellent wood grips. It comes in a near excellent model 1892 steel scabbard that retains much of the original blue finish with the Model 1899 belt attachment with the wide double wire attachment to prevent belt fraying. An excellent example of a NY State marked Krag Bayonet and correct steel scabbard.
