This is a very good condition genuine U.S. M1887 sling. It was constructed as a two piece sling, securely stitched as one and tight, with brass double claw hook on one end and a brass stud button on the other. Comes with 2 keeper loops. This sling was designed for use on the Springfield Trapdoor and Krag rifles. This one is marked "ARSENAL and I can see a W above and other letters that lead me to believe it is a WATERVLIET and P.H.S." it is also marked near the brass button "WCP". The leather show age and has a few crinkles but still serviceable.;
