Serial #7202. This is a box-like assembly, manufactured by Sperry Gyroscope Co., which measures 5 1/4" x 8 3/4" x 6 1/4" and has a series of calibration controls on the front face. The top of the assembly has a small angled glass pane for projecting the concentric ring reticle as well as flip-down auxiliary ring and post sights in case of power or bulb failure. The front controls are protected from unintended contact by a spring-loaded acrylic cover (the lower left corner and edge are broken off) and the power inputs still have their original Sperry-marked transparent covers. These sights were used in the nose turret gun emplacements of B-24 Liberator bombers and this example is in fine condition; a great piece of World War II aviation memorabilia.
