This is a RARE and fine pair of U S NAVY WW II era SARD - SQUARE D Wide Angle 6x42 binoculars in the original case with straps. Cosmetically the Vulcanite covering is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips, There is very minor wear to the black metal trim pieces. The binoculars show signs of minor wear to each side at the outside edges in the area where the writing and notations are located SARD, SQUARE D & 6x42 etc with just a slight oxidation under the paint on the left side. The left eye cup is loose in its orbit but still works. Overall the glass appears bright, free of chips or apparent scratches. The original leather case rates excellent also with straps, snaps and stitching all in place. The finish on the leather fine, shows some wear at the normal area on a few of the edges. Outstanding pair of WWII observation wide angle binoculars.
