This is a large, "violin" type flask with embossed pattern on both sides. The copper has a dull ochre-brown patina throughout, and only a few minor dents without any seam separations. The patent top is still in place, but the powder measure is frozen on 3 1/4 drams, and the thumbpiece spring is broken. That said, this is a very attractive, "G. & J.W. HAWKSLEY / SHEFFIELD" marked flask, and would make a wonderful item for display.;
