Description:
This is a very good condition scarce Antique eagle motif Powder Flask with a common top, non-adjustable charger, small eagle with wings pointing down with wreaths, design body, front and back, approximately 4 ¼"X 2". The cutter and spring work fine. This is not maker marked but most likely made in Birmingham England. The body is mostly free with one real dents and tiny dings, the seams are fine, overall it has nice patina with darker spots. This flask is described by Ray Riling in his book "The Powder Flask Book" page 337 and is pictured on pg. 340 #777, he also explains that back in the day, these flask were light and used hard and few remain in good shape today and this is a very nice example a pistol size flask. ;
