Three Excellent 1800's Brass and Copper Powder Flasks
Description: Mid-1800’s Ornate Hawksley Metal Powder Flask Identified in Ray Riling’s comprehensive treatise on antique powder flasks, The Powder Flask Book, (1992, R&R Books Ltd.), by photographs at page 110 and discussion at page 114. Copper and brass with crisp multi pattern design on both sides. Manufactured by the George and J.W. Hawksley Company, of Sheffield, England (circa. 1840-1889). Measures approximately 8” by 4”. Excellent condition. Spring action on spout, seams and all four carrying strap swivels are original and intact. Mid-1800’s Shell & Bush American Made Metal Powder Flask Identified in Ray Riling’s comprehensive treatise on antique powder flasks, The Powder Flask Book, (1992, R&R Books Ltd.), by photographs at page 287 and page 290 (figure #355). Copper and brass with crisp shell pattern design on both sides. Manufactured by the American Flask & Cap Company, of New York City (circa. 1857-1870). Measures approximately 7” by 3 ¼”. Excellent condition. Spring action on spout, seams and all four carrying strap swivels are original and intact. Mid-1800’s Dog Scene Metal Powder Flask Identified in Ray Riling’s comprehensive treatise on antique powder flasks, The Powder Flask Book, (1992, R&R Books Ltd.), by photographs at pages 366 and 369 (figure 907). Crisp portrayal of a hunting dog seated beneath an upward spreading tree. English made. Measures approximately 8” by 3 ¼”. Excellent condition.
