ANTIQUE BULLET STARTER FOR PERCUSSION RIFLE,OR BUGGY RIFLE
Description:
These antique bullet starters were often included in cased sets for percussion rifles from 1840's on ; untill cartridge rifles became the norm. This one measures 6 1/8 inches overall when fully opened. It fits a round barrel a bit over 1 " diameter ( 1.09" ).As best that I can measure it,it would seem to be for a bullet of a bit less then 3/8 " diameter.I presume there is some wiggle room in bullet diameters. There are two photos that show in Curtiss Rowe book on reloading tools ,volume 1,pages 10 & 11 ; similar bullet starters.
