The original Hebrew stenciling remains remarkably well preserved and identifies the crate as containing Wooden Bullet, the Israeli designation for specialized wooden-projectile training cartridges. Unlike conventional blank cartridges with star-crimped mouths, these rounds utilized lightweight wooden projectiles that fragmented immediately after leaving the muzzle, providing reliable cycling in service rifles while allowing realistic military training with greatly reduced danger. Similar ammunition was widely issued for the IDF's FN FAL rifles, MAG 58 machine guns, and other 7.62 NATO service weapons. The crate markings further specify the original packing configuration of 50 cardboard cartons containing 20 cartridges each, totaling 1,000 rounds.
