High Standard - HD Military - 22LR

Among the many U.S. firearms from the WWII era, the .22 rimfire training guns are often overlooked. The Hi-Standard U.S.A. Model H-D pistol is one particular example. Thousands of these guns were manufactured to train U.S. service personnel in marksmanship and some were even fitted with sound suppressors for covert use. General William "Wild Bill" Donavan, the OSS chief, reportedly smuggled a silenced version into the White House and fired it while President Franklin Roosevelt was distracted signing papers to demonstrate its capabilities.

This Hi-Standard HD Military 22LR pistol is a commerical spinoff of the U.S.A Model HD. The rear sight is a little loose and the overall condition is excellent given its age (DOM 1948). The same serial number is stamped on the slide and the grip (see photos), indicating that the pistol has its original parts. The pistol comes with two magazines and will be shipped in a soft case.
