This is a historic gun. It is the very first gun to be produced by the O.F. Mossberg and Sons in 1920. It started the current Mossberg empire.
This Brownie is without a doubt the finest little rascal that I have seen in 65 years of dealing in collector guns. Other than the usual sharp edge silvering, some scattered pin pricks, a ding or two and a trigger rub mark the gun has about 90+% of the blue. The grip straps do not show the gray toning usually seen on these little pocket pistols.
The striated wood grips are in fine condition, there are no splits, chips or significant dings in either panel. Surprisingly, the original extractor rod on the left side is still present, this is almost always it is missing, lost over the years.
The gun locks up tight and the firing pin indexes and strikes properly. The 4 bores do have some light frosting but still have well defined rifling. A beautiful and historic cutie for the firearms curiosa collector....$695.
