REISING Standard Model .22 LONG RIFLE Semi-Automatic TARGET Pistol C&R M50 1 of only 3,000 Made During the ROARING TWENTIES!
Description: REISING Standard Model .22 LONG RIFLE Semi-Automatic TARGET Pistol C&R M50 1 of only 3,000 Made During the ROARING TWENTIES! Here we present a Reising Standard Model .22 Long Rifle Rimfire Semi-Automatic Pistol, made circa 1923 in Hartford, Connecticut. Eugene Reising started his gunmaking career working as John Moses Browning’s assistant on the project that eventually produced the Colt Model 1911. Reising was an expert target shooter and his first significant solo project was this semi-auto .22 target pistol. He was able to put it into limited production between 1921 and 1924. A total of just 3,000 pistols were made, with serial numbers starting at 1000, so that this would have been made close to the middle of the production run. Although the Reising pistol fit the bill for target shooting, whether due to limited production facilities, or stiff competition with the Colt Woodsman pistol, the model was not a commercial success. Reising would go on to work with Harrington & Richardson to create the M50 submachine gun in .45 ACP, something that was built in numbers and saw significant use during World War II, especially in the Pacific Theater. The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. The action is excellent. The bore is bright in great shape. Both grips are firm, with expected handling wear. All marks are clear and the numbers match. This is a fantastic and rare Reising pistol! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 6-3/4 inches. Caliber: .22 LR Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1265 #201776 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
