Very rare Colt 1908 U.S. marked .25 ACP caliber pistol. Made in 1933. Has a 2" barrel in .25 ACP caliber. Gun is parkerized and is in excellent condition. Right-hand side of frame is marked “U.S. Property". This gun is in a reproduction box with original Colt instruction sheet. Gun comes with a factory letter and was shipped to Potchernick’s in San Antonio, TX, on June 8, 1933. These “US" marked Colt 1908 .25 caliber pistols were purportedly used by the OSS which was the organization that become the CIA. All of the guns used were sourced commercially. When these guns were later inventoried, the “US Property" mark was added and all were refurbished and given a parkerized finish. Very few of these guns exist. There is some controversy to these guns that they were marked and finished by a West coast dealer and sold as original.
