1967 WALTHER PP 7.65mm HIGH GRADE
Description: Manufactured at Walther's Ulm Germany factory in 1967. No import marks. A beautiful example of what is arguably the most successful concealed carry sidearm of all time, This classic DA/SA Walther PP features a 3.9" round barrel with fixed sights mounted atop the matted strip on top of the slide, manual decocking lever, magazine release on the frame's left side, and checkered Walther banner grip panels. The finish is the original commercial polished salt blue across all surfaces, with the chamber area of the barrel polished bright, and the markings include the two-line address with Walther banner on the left of the slide and matching numbers with German commercial proofs throughout. Dimensions: Overall Length 6.9", Height 4.3", Width 0.97" I’m selling my 1967 PP because I collect .32 autos made from 1910-1945 and recently acquired a mint 1938 PP. My PP is excellent, except for some very minor bluing wear near the muzzle. It is a beautiful gun. that functions perfectly and is a joy to shoot. The new PPs made in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, are offered only in SS or Flat Black. Bright, polished, blued Walthers are no longer being made. I don’t know about you, but I prefer my German Walther not to say Ft. Smith, AR. on it. These newly produced USA Walther PP’s are retail priced at $1049.00. The Walther PP (Polizei Pistole) was introduced in 1929 and 1930, followed by the slightly smaller Walther PPK (Polizei Pistole Kriminal) of James Bond fame. Interestingly, in 1962, Dr. No, the first Bond film, actually had a PP. The Walther PP was discontinued in 1999 but reintroduced in late 2024, along with chambering in John Browning’s famous .32 ACP/7.65mm, which is regaining shooters' interest. People buy the Walther P Series because they are a classic design with superb workmanship, beautifully finished, reliable, and accurate. They are also fun to shoot, particularly the PP in 7.65mm, due to low recoil, almost zero recovery time, and inherent accuracy. In contrast, although I shoot big-bore pistols, I found shooting the PPK/s in .380 unpleasant due to the sharp, snappy recoil. People generally don’t buy Walther P Series pistols as everyday carry weapons. They are heavy for their size, expensive, have limited magazine capacity, small sights, and are less powerful, whereas there is no shortage of more economically priced advanced defensive weapons.
