Offered here for sale and newly acquired from a most prestigious collection is this vintage Vintage Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless .32?ACP. With serial number 506399 this is a genuine Type IV example, produced during Colt’s Type?IV run, which spans serial numbers 468,001 to 562,000. The Pocket Hammerless Model M, Type IV — includes integrated barrel bushing and added magazine safety. It is .32 ACP. It’s magazine holds 8 rounds plus 1 in the chamber. It retains 100% of its commercial blued finish. The Type?IV series (serials ~468,001–562,000) was in production from 1927–1942, featuring military sights and the magazine safety mechanism.The Colt 1903 Pocket Hammerless gained remarkable popularity. Favored by organized crime figures during Prohibition—Al Capone, Bonnie Parker, and John Dillinger are known to have carried them.  They were issued to U.S. military and intelligence personnel, including OSS agents and general officers from WWII up to the early 1970s .Beyond American use, it served in British and Commonwealth forces in WWI/WWII, various police agencies, and international military units.  
A complete, unfired specimen with original factory box and documentation is exceptionally rare and highly desirable. Most Hammerless pistols have seen field use; unfired, complete-in-box (CIB) examples are scarce—collector quality.The presence of only storage marks suggests the pistol’s been preserved since manufacture, likely untouched in its original packaging.
