Offered is a highly collectible Colt Super .38 that was sold to the Burlington, Vermont Police Department in 1936. This gun is shown in Doug Sheldon’s book on the Colt Super .38’s with a full page coverage. According to his study there were only three Police Departments that the Super .38’s were shipped to, The Burlington P.D., St. Louis P.D. and the Escanaba, Michigan Police Department. These are extremely rare and highly collectible. The condition is very good and the gun is in mechanically perfect condition. The front grip strap shows the police department marking with B.P.D. No. 13. The original checkered walnut grips are free from cracks and chips. This is an early Colt auto with historical significance. Note: The book is for reference only and is not included in the package. I offer a three-day non-firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $85 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer).
